Masters County Challenge 2025

In January, the Masters County Challenge took place, with four Cambridgeshire Teams taking part.

In the Over 40s Premier, held at Milton Keynes, we had our Over 40s first team, whilst our Over 40s second team travelled to Eastleigh to play in Division 1B. Also in Milton Keynes, in the Over 50s Premier, our Over 50s first team took part, whilst our Over 60s team were in Worcester, playing in Division 1A.

The Over 40s first team were victorious in their division, winning 6 out of 6 matches, with a maximum of 12 points scored, meaning they retained the title from 2024!

The Over 40s second team, made up of Tom Legerton, Paul Martell, Chris Parker, Mark Albertella, Emma Best, Stacy Knoop, Danielle Pont, Swata Sinha and Yafei Wang, played well but unfortunately placed 7th in their division.

The Over 50s, also playing in Milton Keynes, drew in two of their matches, but also placed 7th in their division. The team representing Cambridgeshire was Kevin Barron, Peter Coleman, John Foo, Paul Hubbard, Nick Pratt, Sandra Ashcroft, Sharon Chandler, Olga Chernysheva and Amanda Godfrey.

The Over 60s placed 2nd in their division in Worcester, with some close results from the teams. The Cambridgeshire players were Martyn Clark, John Harvey, Duncan Mcrobbie, Martin Smith, Dianne Baker, Angela Sharman, Janine Speechley and Helen Taylor.
