Thursday is the County AGM. It is at 7.30pm at Comberton Village College. Come to the sports centre and it will be signposted. Come along - hear what the committee have been up to and have your say. This is the meeting which determines the direction of the County - Junior development, senior leagues and County squads, and anything else relating to badminton. The more people who participate, the more will get done and more people will feel represented.
If you're a budding U11 or U13 badminton player, there's another upcoming Fun Tournament at Burwell on 17th March from 12 noon.
You do not necessarily need to be in a club already to play in a fun tournament. If you want to give the sport a try, or have played at school and enjoyed it, this is a great introduction to a little competition.
For more details see the entry form. There should be some really fun badminton for lots of potential badminton stars!
Why not try GET BACK INTO BADMINTON! (For adult beginners and those who haven't played for a while).
The 6 week coached course starts on the 12th January at Manor Sports Centre in Cambridge (Arbury Road), 6-7pm for adults who are of beginner level.
For more information see the poster.
In a shock move, a team of men from Cambridgeshire Badminton have agreed to put their upper lips on the line to raise awareness and funds for mens cancer issues, by growing moustaches in the month of November!
You can follow our progress by 'friending' the Cambs Badminton Facebook page.
To find out more about the team who are daring to flirt with such 1970's-style lip adornment, you can also check out their Mo-site website.
Finally, please don't forget to donate a little something to support prostate and other mens cancer research, and encourage the boys to stick out a month of looking like porn-film rejects... You can quickly and easily donate online!
Message from Di Thomas - BE Regional Officer:
Hi coaches,
I have been contacted by CSR S&SC Badminton Club who are a sports and social group from a workplace.
They are looking to do a block of 8 weeks coaching to learn about positioning etc, particularly for doubles.
They train at CRC (Cambs Regional College) and would be looking for someone to come and coach on 6:15-7:15pm on Wednesday nights, starting before Christmas.
This is a paid opportunity; please contact myself if you are interested in the role or Rochelle from the club Rochelle.Isaac@csr.com
